Falls are the leading cause of unintentional injury deaths for people over age 65, and a leading reason for emergency room visits in the United States each year. Falls can cause brain injuries, hip fractures and other devastating consequences. Many falls could be avoided through simple preventative measures.

Vistit the ThinkFirst National Injury Prevention Foundation Website

Aspen Valley Hospital participates in local community events like Bike to Work Day, Rotary Aspen’s Ducky Derby, Aspen Valley Ski and Snowboard Club’s 4th of July picnic and the National Ski Patrol Safety Month to provide head injury prevention education and free helmets to community members in need.

The Central Mountains RETAC Teen Seat Belt Challenge is a fun and friendly competition for high schools in the counties of Chaffee, Eagle, Lake, Park, Pitkin, and Summit to participate in.  The goal of the Teen Seat Belt Challenge is to increase seat belt usage and raise awareness of the danger of distracted driving amongst the student body population and the community.

Aspen Valley Hopital supports our local community by running the program for the upper Roaring Fork Valley.
